Alliances, joint ventures and partnerships form a key component of any successful, entrepreneurial business model. I help achieve both short-term performance and long-term value in line with the many interests of numerous partner-stakeholders.
The journey so far...
As an advisor and entrepreneur, I maintain a portfolio of roles today. First, I continue my quest to make alliances, joint ventures and partnerships successful.
I really enjoy working with senior management teams operating in the “intangible” industries, including technology, energy, fund management and professional, financial and business services.
As a consultant, I co-founded KermaPartners in 2006, a boutique consultancy which became preeminent advising professional services businesses on strategy, organisational design and performance management.
London-based, I worked with senior management teams designing and transforming alliances, joint ventures and partnerships in the UK, Continental Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East. More than a dozen clients are market leaders in their fields. I was CEO for 7 years until I entrusted the firm to my partners at the end of 2015.
My career started as an accountant and consultant in the United States, Germany and Eastern Europe in the early 1990s. I qualified as a certified public accountant with KPMG in the US.
After retaining as a US corporate finance lawyer, I worked with management teams on the formation, operation and workouts of business partnerships, real estate partnerships, technology financings and general international joint ventures and strategic alliances. My last station as a lawyer was with Norton Rose Fulbright in London after time in the US and Germany.
In academia, I taught international joint ventures at the University of Cologne‘s graduate program. I also taught accounting and international M&A at the University of Denver executive MBA and law faculties, plus international finance at GEA College in Slovenia.
Whilst I grew up in Germany, I hold a Master of Accountancy and a Juris Doctor from the University of Denver.
